February 5, 2025, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Jack Rimmer of the Collingwood Blues has been named the league’s West Conference Player-of-the-Month for January after he tallied a conference-leading 19 points during 10 games.
Mr. Consistency, Rimmer had points in nine of 10 Blues’ games in January, including two-goal performances against Niagara Falls (Jan. 5) and the Toronto Patriots (Jan. 11). His seven goals included three game-winners.
Acquired from the North York Rangers in 2023, the 19-year-old from Etobicoke has amassed 38 points (15 goals/23 assists) during 24 regular season games so far this year. Committed to NCAA Division I Niagara, Rimmer had 65 regular-season points and 22 more during the postseason, as Collingwood rolled to the OJHL championship. He added seven more points during six games at the 2024 Centennial Cup in Oakville, helping the Blues win the national championship tournament.
Luke Johnston of the Milton Menace was voted runner-up to Rimmer as the West Conference Player of the Month. The Milton native had 14 points in only six games. He tied for the league lead in goals (11) with Riley Pope of the Stouffville Spirit. He had points in every Menace game during January, including a four-goal night against archrival Collingwood on Jan. 19. The 20-year-old, who played for Oakville in the 2024 Centennial Cup tournament, was acquired by Milton from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens on Nov. 14, 2024.
