April 21, 2025, Mississauga, ON – ….The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) will honour the recipients of the league’s annual awards tonight.
The on-ice ceremony will be held prior to Game 2 of the OJHL’s Championship Series at Milton Memorial Arena in Milton, ON. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
The best-of-seven series is being played between the Milton Menace and Trenton Golden Hawks. Trenton won Game 1 by a 3-0 score in Trenton on Saturday.
OJHL Commissioner Marty Savoy will make the presentations.
The list of award winners includes a pair of Leamington Flyers who will receive two awards each:
- Colton Smith, OJHL MVP and Top Scorer
- Marcus Vandenberg, Top Goalie and Goaltender of the Year
Other winners include:
- Jonathan Kapageridis (Cobourg Cougars), Hudl InStat Top Prospect for the NHL Draft
- Mason Kim (Mississauga Chargers), Rookie of the Year
- Riley Pope (Stouffville Spirit), Most Improved Player
- Cameron Eke (Collingwood Blues),Top Defenceman
- David Elmy (St. Michael’s Buzzers), Most Gentlemanly Player
- Gabriel Trozzo (Toronto Patriots), Scholastic Player of the Year
- David Paglia (Stouffville Spirit), Humanitarian of the Year
- TJ Hill (Stouffville Spirit), Coach of the Year
- Justin Solcz (Leamington Flyers), General Manager of the Year
- Kenny Burrows (Stouffville Spirit), Executive of the Year
- David Hearn (Collingwood Blues), Volunteer of the Year
- Leah Toffelmire (Trenton Golden Hawks), Athletic Therapist of the Year
- Mike Aloe (Burlington Cougars), Equipment Manager of the Year
Eke (Niagara), Kapageridis (Vermont), Smith (Clarkson) and Elmy (Canisius) have NCAA Division I scholarship commitments. Kapageridis is also committed to North Bay of the Ontario Hockey League.
Toffelmire and Solcz are repeat winners.
