TRENTON’S MATTHEW SOULIERE NAMED OJHL EAST CONFERENCE PLAYER-OF-THE-MONTH

October 4, 2024, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Matthew Souliere has been named the East Conference Player-of-the-Month for September after he tallied 14 points during eight games for the first-place Trenton Golden Hawks

Souliere had points in seven of those games, including a two-goal night against Pickering Sept. 13. He added two more goals, including the game-winner in overtime, during the Golden Hawks’ first game of October, a 4-3 decision in Burlington Tuesday

In his first season with the Golden Hawks, the 18-year-old from London, ON is having a big week, already making an NCAA Division I commitment to Princeton University. Souliere joined Trenton following a 54-point season with the Strathroy Rockets Jr. B team.

Nathan Poole of the Haliburton County Huskies was runner-up to Souliere as the East Conference Player-of-the-Month. Poole had 12 assists on top of four goals during eight games in September. The 20-year-old from Oshawa joined the Huskies this season following four years with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League.
